Moscow announced that the duty on wheat exports will be increased to 3,630.9 rubles ($40.2) per tonne from January 31, 2024, up from the current rate of 3,588.5 rubles ($39.78) per tonne, according to data of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The duty on barley will be zero, the duty on corn will increase to 1,431.7 rubles ($15.98) against 1,148.6 rubles ($12.82) per ton.
The export duty rate for wheat is calculated at an indicative price of $251.3 per ton, for barley - $188.1 per ton, and for corn - $194.8 per ton.
At the same time, Russia donated 25,000 tons of grain to Burkina Faso as part of a humanitarian delivery.
“The entire grain shipment of 25,000 tonnes was delivered on the territory of Burkina Faso to the port of Abidjan. It will be distributed among the needy population, mainly widows, as well as disabled people," said the Russian ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso, Alexey Saltikov.
Earlier, Russia also sent a grain shipment of 25,000 tons to Somalia. The decision to carry out humanitarian supplies to a number of African countries was made by Vladimir Putin at the second Russia-Africa summit.
But not all countries in the world enjoy the Russian presence. US authorities denied Russian diplomats the opportunity to participate in the 59th session of the International Grains Council (IGC) in New Orleans, the Russian Embassy in Washington said in a statement.
"Once again, we would like to draw the attention of the public and the media to the mass practices of the US authorities in restricting business trips of the Russian Embassy on the territory of the United States," the Russian diplomatic mission said.
“The State Department's number of denials for official travel outside the District of Columbia has been steadily increasing. In addition, employees do not bother to explain the reasons for their decisions. Bureaucrats seem to think it is beneath their dignity to talk to us,” the embassy complained.
"We call on the US authorities to realistically assess the consequences of their course towards further erosion of bilateral relations." We require a responsible approach to the functions of hosts of international events. Russian participation in them is not only sought by other nations, but also necessary for making effective decisions on issues that concern the whole world," the statement said.
